The NASS Eastern Regional Spit-Together will take place at the Carlisle Import and Replicar meet, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, May 16, 17, and 18th. In addition to the Activities at the Carlisle Import proper (see http://www.ifounditatcarlisle.com ) NASS will be providing its own awards in the following classes:
A: Early Spits 62-70,
B: Late Spits 71-80;
C: GT6 (all);
D: Spit/GT6 Daily Driver;
E; Spit/GT6 Diamond in the Rough; and
F: Other British Cars
For those who haven’t been to the Carlisle Import Nationals…it’s a Mecca for the owners of British cars! There are acres and acres of vendors selling parts and tools. Tired of your Spitfire’s looks? The Kit Car section has all the stuff needed to turn your decrepit Pontiac into a Pantera. And so on and so on…
The festivities will start on Friday. All NASS entries will be together in one area of the show car field, where we will keep our banner high. Get the jump on the other shoppers by getting the lay of the land…check out what the vendors have for sale, and make notes so you can compare prices and quality of the goods. Sign up for the official Carlisle activities (see sidebar of Official Carlisle Events).
We’ll all go out to dinner that evening…and rest up for Saturday’s activities. That’s when the bulk of the vendors and buyers will be there…we’ll have the advantage since we will have been scoping them out already.
Judging for the NASS awards will take place 2 to 3 PM, with awards soon after.
About 4 PM (times subject to change) NASS members and friends will embark on a scenic country drive of about one to two hours duration, finishing up at a pub or restaurant…with a stop along the way for pictures of course!
Sunday is when the big bargains appear…as the show winds down the sellers will usually be loath to cart their stuff back home, so they let it go cheap! Also Sunday is the day of the Grassroots Motorsports Autocross. Not to mention the giveaway of a sports car (well a Fiat 850 Spyder) at 3 PM.
Registration for the Fairgrounds is only $15 for the three days of the event. Enter at Carlisle Link
The NASS-Specific car show and entry will run you $20…this includes an event pin, a t-shirt, and defrays costs of our trophies. Click here for the Entry Form
Lodging will be member’s own responsibility. We suggest reserving rooms early since this is a big local event. The Carlisle website will offer suggestions for those who want to camp out.

16-18. More than 20,000 visitors are expected to attend, with more than
500 vendors setting up shop and close to 1,200 vehicles on the show field
at the Carlisle, Pa., Fairgrounds. The show field features vintage
and newer-model British, European and Asian vehicles; kit and replica vehicles;
a car corral featuring all sorts of imported vehicles for sale; new kit,
specialty and replicar manufacturers; and vintage import swap meet. Clubs
may register to reserve areas on the show field for one-, two- or three-day
gatherings. Join us for one of the largest vintage import swap meets and
new kit/replicar manufacturers display in the nation. Event
promoters are currently working with Nissan, Volkswagen and Mini to have
new cars on display. An indoor display will feature unique import, kit
and replica vehicles. Saturday evening, all show field participants are
welcome to join in a road rally through the beautiful scenery surrounding
the Carlisle Fairgrounds. Show field registration is $15 before April 25
and $25 after. Back by popular demand, Kit Car Builder magazine and
the National Kit Car Club will present a full schedule of seminars geared
toward the kit/replicar market on Friday and Saturday. Second Chance Garage,
the official restoration Web site of Carlisle Events, hosts seminars presented
by Les “Dr. Crankshaft” Jackson on Saturday. Informational seminars by
the Citroën Club and the Fiero Club will take place Saturday. Check
Carlisle Events’ Web site, updated as event nears, for a listing of the
topics to be covered. To add to the excitement, Carlisle Events
has teamed up with the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) to expand the
driving activities that were introduced at the show last year. Attendees
can take part in the SCCA driving school, where advanced driving techniques
will be taught. Afterwards, guests can try out those techniques on the
course. Registration to participate in the SCCA driving activity will take
place all weekend at the event. Space is limited, and drivers must be at
least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance
and registration at the time of the event. The final day of
the show heats up on the road course, as the SCCA will conduct a SOLO II
competition on the Carlisle driving course. The SOLO II will have classes
for all cars, and prizes will be awarded for the top three places in each
class. Don’t miss the giveaway on Sunday, May 18, at approximately
3 p.m. Be at the stage with your admission stub for a chance to win a 1970
Fiat 850 Spyder with a 903cc, rear-mounted, four-cylinder engine. A long-throw
shifter operates the four-speed manual transmission and the soft top is
easily retracted by hand. No purchase is necessary to enter, but you must
be present to win. Carlisle Events welcomes returning sponsors Grundy
Worldwide Collector Car Insurance, Meguiar’s, Pep Boys and eBay Motors,
all major supporters of all Carlisle automotive events. Notary, title transfer
and vehicle shipping services are located conveniently on-grounds, as are
cash and credit services from Members 1st Federal Credit Union and MBNA.
Services to insure, accessorize or repair your dream vehicle are also located
on the fairgrounds. New this year, only one-person scooters
specifically designed for physically disabled patrons will be permitted
on the grounds. Due to increased pedestrian traffic and for the safety

form of small personal transportation including golf carts, bicycles, two-wheeled
