Mark was a great friend to me, and he will be missed and thought of often. We first met on the show field of the CBCF, the Champagne Brit Car Show that he co-founded and organized for many years. His spirit and special character is hard found these days but too often trampled. Mark and I shared many talks and several good laughs together. We went on car searches together and brought back rusted treasures that no one else would appreciate. We turned to each other for advice on our Triumphs, and consoled each other when cars broke down. His cheerfulness and big smiles were infectious, and to be around him was to enjoy life and friendship. My wife Ginny said that Mark was one of the best "huggers" she has ever met. It must be an Iowa thing! Mark, watch over us old Triumph owners and guide us safely till we meet again. May God grant you smooth roads and sunny blue skies on your trip to Heaven! Love you like a brother, ~ Howard Baugues, West Terre Haute, Indiana |

Mark was as good a friend as a person could ask for. Always preferring a smile (and a hearty laugh) to a frown, Mark was one of the most forgiving people I've ever known. He considered his network of friends his most prized collection, and that is saying a lot. I will miss you, my brother.

Mark and I toured to the east coast together in 1998. He in his Red and white '65 TRiumph Vitesse and I in my '69 TR6. After a great time on the shore in Buffalo, we swapped cars until mine cut out on him driving down the NewYork Thruway. I'm sure that police officer still smiles at the thought of Mark sitting behind the Vitesse, tanning, in a lawn chair wearing a hat and reading a book while I worked on my car. Too many hours later we were moving. In Massachusetts after rebuilding his generator he continued on for a few days on Martha's Vineyard with friends. We regrouped, rebuilt his generator again and drove back to the VTR convention in Albany NY, rebuilt my altenator and then drove home. Great time with plenty of good memories. Life will be a bit less fun without Mark. He will be missed. ~ Jeff Rust, Cherry Valley, Illinois |

Mark was one of my best friends and helped me through so many rough times. I loved him and his family very much. I will miss him so so very much. He was always there for me and I was blessed to have a friend who cared and loved me so much. I will never ever forget his smile and his caring ways. He loved his friends and was always taking in the strays for Thanksgiving and any other holiday. He was a great cook...thank goodness for us. You never wanted to cross him when it came to religion or politics, he'd always have something to say, which he did about most things...he made us think. I will miss you so much my dear sweet friend, there is a void in my life! ~ Debbie Roesch, Mahomet, Illinois |

To Mark's family I offer my sincere sympathies. Mark and I spent many a late night sitting up talking, debating, discussing and most importantly, solving all of the world's problems! He was a wonderful man with much to offer this world. He will truly be missed. Laura Auteberry

I remember Mark as genuine, carefree and good spirited. He always had the coolest of cars and a smile on his face. Motor on Mark ~ Tom Beaver, Indy, Indiana |

One of my all-time favorite recipes is Mark's mango/habenaro salsa. Mark had many interests. I benefited many times at Kraft from some of his culinary creations. Zipping through the streets in his "Tr-Ford" is a memory I will have forever. Everytime I see a Tr4, I think of Mark. Many times the difference between going to see a band or not depended if Mark was going to be there or not. We always knew if he was there...a good memory would come from it. You will be missed!

I used to live around the corner from Mark on Arcadia. It was about 1983 or '84 and I always remembered a British sports car (or two) in the driveway. During our friendship since then we've listened to the same live bands and shared a large group of friends or "regulars" along the way. My favorite memory of Mark is first and foremost his smile and then his hugs, he never went anywhere without them! Everyone's life he touched with his friendship will never be forgotten. I know he is in a much better place and he would want everyone to smile along with him. ~ Lisa Butler, Champaign, Illinois |

I dated Mark for about a year and he was quite the cook. One funny story was when my daughter (about 7) had minor mouth surgery so she could not eat much. Mark made a beautiful stew and decided to throw it in the blender for her! Well, she saw that glass of brown muddy stuff and didn't know what to do...she did whisper to me and asked if she had to eat it and I had to tell Mark she wasn't hungry (sorry Mark, she did love all your hot spicy recipes though). That was the kind of caring person he was, wanting this little girl(whom he adored) to have a nutritious meal (even if blended!). We haven't seen him in years but we did catch up this past year...thanks for the memories... We wish nothing but peaceful happy memories for the
family.
